Butterflies Day 3

THis is a bit sneaky as it doesn't actually feature a butterfly but the stamp I've used is from the Butterfly Basics stampset so I didn't really cheat.

To create the background I used one of Stampin Ups fab clear acrylic stamping blocks and coloured it in using the maker pens. I then spritzed it with water and stamped it directly onto the whisper white cardstock, held it there to set and then, voila, a unique background!  I stamped over this using the flower stamp. stamped in Staz On Ink.

Butterflies day 2

Welcome to day 2!

This is made using a technique called Partial Retiform.  Its a quick and easy effect to use but very striking.  Today I have just used the Butterfly Basics stamp set, some post stick notes and a bit of scrap card.  You can find a link to the youtube video I watched here Video

I am so loving the blackberry bliss and Mossy Meadow, I know they're not really spring colours but they do go together so well.

Come back tomorrow for card 3 and something a bit different.

Butterflies

This week I have been playing with s stamp sets and the gorgeous Butterfly Thinlets dies.

We have made friends with a family in China and their eldest daughter has set up a foundation to help orphans in Tanzania.  I offered to make her some cards to sell with all proceeds going to the foundation.  Every day this week I will feature one of the cards I designed for her to sell.

This first one uses the thinlets and the bitty butterfly punch and I added a bit of bling.  It's very difficult to find "western" birthday cards over here so she is finding it very easy to sell them.

Come back tomorrow for card 2.

Happy Mothers Day

In the UK it's Mothers Day this Sunday, over here in Beijing they celebrate it in May, if I'm really lucky I may get to celebrate twice!  As most of our British friends over here intend to celebrate this weekend I have been asked to create some Mothers Day cards and I was more than happy to oblige.

This card is so versatile and the colour combinations are easily changed.  I cut out he Happy using the Hello You thinlets die set that you can get in a bundle with 15% off together with the Crazy About You stamp set that allows you to create a card celebrating just about anything!

Anyway, I hope you like the card and Happy Mothers Day to all the mums celebrating this Sunday

MDS MAGIC

I have been asked to create some invitations to a friends wedding so I decided to mix some MDS with cardstock and see what I came up with.

For those of you are unfamiliar with MDS, it's Stampin UP!s digital design suite that allows you to create cards, invites, scrapbook pages, photo books, the possibilities are endless and what's more is you can try it out for free and if you love it, it's only £13.95 to buy the whole program and there are so many digital downloads on offer to enhance the software you will be amazed at what you will create.  The best bit for me is that you don't have to be a computer genius to use it too!

Anyway, as my friend is having a beach wedding, the lucky girl, I downloaded the By the Seashore digital stamp set and changed the colours to suit my design.  Donna loves her invitations and I'm really happy with how quick and easy they were to create.
