And another birthday card.....

I had to go for an MRI scan this morning as I have degenerative disc disease  and found out that I have 3 herniated discs in my neck, will find out tomorrow if surgery is necessary or if we can just get away with physio so please keep your fingers crossed for me.  On top of that my eldest daughter has glandular fever, she's only 12 and is really suffering poor thing :( Still, it hasn't stopped me crafting! :)

I am still loving the framelits dies together with the paper piercing mats.  They really add something to the cards.  I love the layers on this and they are so quick and easy to make with the dies.

This is a photo from the side showing the layers in more detail - what do you think?

Another Birthday Card

Today I made this card for my friends Nan. It uses the Just Believe stamp set which I have used so many times I can't tell you!

I also embossed the bottom of the die cut using the hearts embossing folder and used the same folder to create the green border behind the die cut.  It really adds texture to the card along with the ribbon.
I hope that her Nan likes it.

Have a great day

Happy Birthday Lydia

I am really liking the new framelit dies and the paper piercing pack from the new mini holiday catalogue.  There's something about that little row of dots that really makes a card more interesting.

I used my colour coach for this card too, it's something that I always have to hand when I'm stumped for colour combinations and it always comes up trumps.

This is for my gorgeous niece Lydia and I hope that she likes it.

Have a great day

More for Christmas

I know, it's only September but it's always good to be prepared and Christmas does have a habit of creeping up on you!

I started making these cards to post yesterday but half way through the first one, one of our dogs decided to escape from the bottom of the garden!  He's a big blue German Shepherd who loves people and is very friendly but there are lots of more elderly people near to where I live and coming across a huge blue German Shepherd is not something I would like to contemplate so the day ended up as one big massive dog hunt which only ended at 4pm when we realised he was stuck in a neighbours hen house in the woods behind our house.  Thankfully he hadn't eaten any of the chickens but he was very hot, thirsty and very very smelly.  He hasn't left my side today!

Anyway onto the cards.  I really enjoy embossing, there's something almost magical about the way it turns from being a mat powder into something shiny and bright.

I decided to keep the cards the same layout and just change the baubles. I loved the embossed ones but I'm not sure about the stamp n' glitter one in the green.  It didn't show enough detail for my liking but boy does it sparkle so it gets to be shown!

They are very quick cards to make especially as the border on the right hand side is made using a wheel.

Let me know what you think, I love to read your comments.

Have a great day

Evergreen

This stamp set Evergreen is so versatile!  I decided to stamp the tree and then stamp the writing over the top and emboss it in gold.

I used the holiday frame embossing folder to add dimension.

I also embossed the writing on the words and embossed the bottom of the card.

This is a side view showing all the layers.

What do you think?  Do you like the new blog layout?

Have a great day

Cupcake in a jar

I love the new Perfectly Preserved sets in the new seasonal catalogue and once again Stampin UP! Are offering 15% off when you buy the stamps and the framelits as a bundle.

I stamped the jar image onto acetate and then used some of the gorgeous fabric to make a "jam jar" lid. I covered the inside of the card so you couldn't see the acetate.

I put the cupcake onto the inside of the card to make it more interesting when you open it.  The acetate really makes it a lot more than a card with a "hole" in it.

Let me know what you think

Christmas Ornament

I saw this on the cover of the new mini Catalogue and knew that I had to make one.  It is so beautiful yet fairly simple to create.  As soon as my new goodies arrived yesterday I couldn't wait to get started.
What's even better is that the main things you need to create it come in a bundle offer!  Item number 129949 at £43.95 if you would like the bundle in wood or 129950 at £129950 if you would prefer the stamps in clear. This includes 9 stamps and 8 framelit dies!

As an extra special offer from me this month, if you buy either of the bundle sets above, I will post them to you FREE of charge!! that will be a saving of at least £3.95 (just call it an early Christmas present)

Let me know if you would like to take me up on the above offer by e-mailing me at ruthwareing@aol.com.  Alternatively if you live in Coventry or Warwickshire, e-mail about coming along and making one at one of my classes.

I look forward to hearing form you soon

The Retirement List!

It's that time of the year where we say goodbye to some products to make way for LOTS of gorgeous new things!!

Below you will find the links to 2 retirement lists, the first one is the Stamp Set list and the second one is the Accessories list.

Some items have a reduction on them and PLEASE place an order quickly as they will SELL OUT and once they are gone that's it :(

You will notice all the inkpads look like they are retiring!! Well our current felt ink pads are retiring to make way for the new style Firm Foam ink pads! These are really juicy ink pads and great for even coverage with minimal effort!

I will offer FREE postage and packaging throughout the month of September on all orders over £60.00 so why not grab yourself a cuppa and have a look through the list and let me know what I can get for you at ruthwareing@aol.com

What have we here?

Have you guessed yet?  Yep!  They're skins for my i-phone 4!
I found this very talented lady here and had to give these a go.

I bought a clear i-phone cover from the Apple Store and then went to town in my craft studio!

This is such a cool way to use up scraps of cardstock and paper

and you can make them any colour - you could have a different one for every day of the week!

I embossed the stars on this one with silver embossing powder and it looks great in the case

I put some glitter on the flowers of this one and it sparkles in the case.

This is one of the covers in the case, they're so quick to make and so, so easy. I'm sure she gives instructions for the i-phone 3 as well as the i-phone 4 which I have.

Let me know if you have a go at making some.
