A 50th Birthday card

My sister in law was 50 this week and I wanted to make her a card that was special to mark the occassion.

I used the Thinlet Circle set to create the card they are so quick and easy to use but make such lovely cards.  I used the Papillion Potpourri Butterfly stamp set and the butterfly punch along with the scalloped circle thinlet that comes in the set.

On the other side of the circle I stamped the number 50 and used the scalloped circle thinlet again.

To make it even more special I used the remaining patterned paper to create  matching envelope using the fantastic new envelope punch board.

Making cards using this set of thinlets is very easy and they are so versatile.  Everything I have used today is available from my online shop, there is a supply list below.

Have a great day

Another Christmas Card

This is a very quick and easy card to make, the only time consuming thing was cutting out the wreath. I embossed the wreath using clear embossing powder and it really made it shine.  I then cut it out using my super sharp paper snips.  I thank ran some crumb cake through the Big Shot using the Pretty Print Embossing Folder.  I then stamped onto some Cherry Cobbler cardstock using one of the stamp from the Christmas Messages stamp set.  I then mounted the crumb cake onto a white card base and then used dimensionals to raise the wreath and the littlle robin to add dimension to the card.
I then stamped the greeting using another of the Christmas Messages stamp set at the bottom

I find that as I have to make so many cards for Christmas I like to find cards that look good but don't take forever to make.  I plan on making a few more this afternoon as it's such a miserable day here.

Enjoy your crafting

Festive Flurry

As promised, here are 2 different cards made using the same stamp set; Festive Flurry.  You can buy this as a stamp set or together with the Framelits dies as a bundle (if you buy them as a bundle you save 15%!)

On this card I stamped the snowflakes onto Night of Navy Cardstock using a versamark pad.  I then used the heat and stick powder and the stampin glitter to create the sparkle.  I then used silver embossing powder to emboss the greeting from the Christmas Messages stamp set.

For this card I stamped the snowflakes using different colours and then cut them out using the framelit dies, it makes life so much quicker!  I then added glitter to the middle section (it's Christmas, therefore you must have glitter). I mounted it onto silver card and then onto a white background.

It just shows you how versatile one set can be!

You can order any of the supplies I have used on these projects (serial numbers listed below) from my online shop and have them delivered directly to your door, just use the "shop now" button on my blog.  Then you can come back on her and show me what you've created!

Have a great day

My Digital Studio

My Digital Studio is coming really soon. I LOVE it, I can create scrapbook pages at the click of a button and it really is very easy to pick up.

This is a page I created for my very talented daughter Thalia who has already won 3 gold medals this year.  She is a multi eventer (a bit like Jessica Ennis) and this page is her winning a 200 mtr race.  We are off to another competition this afternoon in the drizzle but it does make a nice change from Irish Dancing!

Have a great weekend

Creating Backgrounds

Today I decided to have a go at creating my own backgrounds.  I took a cleat stamping block and coloured it in sections using the Stampin Write markers.  I used the blues for the first card.

For the second card I used orange tones and then stamped the stem from the Field Flowers set directly onto the background.  I then stamped the flowers and cut them out so that they added dimension to the card

It's very easy to create backgrounds like this and very quick too, especially if you don't have the exact background paper you are looking for.  Have a go, and let me know how you get on.

Post Card

In the new catalogue I came across a stamp that I instantly fell in love with.  I could imagine so many possibilities for that stamp!
Here I have decided to show you two versions of a similar card layout using the postcard stamp.  Each time I stamped the image onto very vanilla and then cut it out to fit onto an embossed background which in turn fitted onto a standard A5 card.

This one is obviously more male orientated, I coloured the boat using the stampin markers and then cut it out and used dimensional to stick it onto the card. I then used the greeting from the Feel Goods set.  I used Marina Mist and inked around the edges which is a new thing for me.

This one is more ladylike and I used the gorgeous new Strawberry Slush paper.  I also used the new Stampin UP! Clay which I coloured with the strawberry slush marker and I also coloured one in using Pink Pirouette.

I hope you'll agree that the cards are very effective but they really didn't take that long to create.

I will put a "menu" below and if you would like to order any of the items to create your own masterpieces, please e-mail me at ruthwareing@aol.com, I look forward to hearing from you

Dress Up

I love the new Dress up range and decided to have a go using the card base pop n cuts together with the dress form pop n cuts and the dress up framelits.  This is the card closed.

Inside the card I made some wallpaper using the colour collection designer series paper

I cut out some of the butterflies using the beautiful wings embosslits

I then made a little envelope to stick on the bottom of the card to put some money in as a gift.
I have a feeling that I am going to be making a lot of these cards.  Using the dies makes them so quick and easy to do but they look like you've spent hours creating them.

Let me know if you would like to order any of the supplies as I will be happy to help

dads 80th

It's my father in laws 80th Birthday soon and I always struggle to make male cards, they're not a pretty as lady's cards so I never seem to enjoy making them, that was, until I saw this card and I fell in love!
I wanted to stamp my clouds as I love the effect and this card is huge - 8" x 8" but I don;t think it looks lost.
It didn't take too long but it is definitely a card I will be making again and again, especially for men! What do you think?

This is the inside of the card, I wanted to do something a bit different and it's been left blank as we have a lot of people to sign it!

I even decorated the envelope!

Have a great day

Sneak Peak

The new spring catalogue comes out on February 1st celebrating 25 years of Stampin UP!  As demonstrators we are SO lucky to be able to have previews of the up and coming goodies.

It was my gorgeous niece Nancy's 18th birthday last weekend and I wanted to create her a special card as Summer and I were unable to attend her party due to dance commitments.

I made this extra large card for her - it measures 8" square and I embossed the top (which, sadly, you can't see very well in the photos)

You will LOVE the new catalogue but if you can't wait until February, why not order some of our goodies from the main catalogue, for every £45 you spend you can get a free stamp or paper set from the special Sale-a-Bration flyer on the left hand side of my blog!

I'm now off to brave the snow again and walk down the garden to my craft house.

Have a great day

Ruth
