Cheers to You

It's my brother in laws 50th birthday tomorrow and I thought I would take the opportunity to use a new stamp set for me called Cheers to You. This is a great little set for doing the dreaded male cards as it has the always useful pint of beer as one of the stamps.

I chose to use Night of Navy and Bordering Blue as my colour scheme and then coloured in the pints and used some fluffy stuff for the top of each glass.

I then added a pint onto the envelope!

If you would like to order the Cheers to You stamp set for just £12.95, or any other Stampin' UP! products, please e-mail me at ruthwareing@aol.com and I will be pleased to help.

Hope you're have a great day!

40th Birthday card

I was asked to make a 40th birthday card for a lady who loves roses. Well, I had just the perfect set in the A Rose is a Rose and I'd forgotten how much fun this set is. I love using my Stamp-a-ma-jig and I love the dimension that this set creates.

I was asked to leave the middle of the card blank but I couldn't resist adding some of the little flowers and leaves.

As it's a 40 card I thought I'd add a bit of glitter (you can never have too much glitter) and it really made the roses jump off the card.

The children I taught on Friday made "no cut bags" and when they are all finished this Friday I shall try and remember to take photos of them.

Hope you all had a great weekend, it was the last big Irish Dancing Feis of the season for us and we ended on a high which was lovely. It will be lovely to have my weekends back until September although Summer will be busy practising for the British Nationals in July!.

Another scrapbooking page

This is my other daughter being very brave having her ears pierced last year.
I used the dotty side of the Cottage Garden papers and cut out a circle using the Orchid Opulence.
I stamped the Baroque Motifs stamp in Old Olive and used a strip of Old Olive to tie the colour scheme together.

I LOVE the felt flowers set from the mini catalogue so I used those as accents.

I used a strip of Melon Mambo to mount the photos on and then wrote the journalling around the circle.

It's been quite nice to get back to scrapbooking and it's so much easier with the Stampin' UP! goodies as they all coordinate so well with each other.

I am teaching at my daughters primary school tomorrow afternoon, so wish me luck!

Something different

A scrapbook page!

I started off as a scrapbooker many moons ago and I thought I should really make use of the new gorgeous cottage wall paper set. I had a picture of Summer in one of her old Irish dancing dresses which conveniently matched with the colour scheme and I thought the flight of the butterfly would fit in too.
I also manged to use the eyelet border punch and some of the gorgeous ribbon. I also used the flower from the vintage vogue set.

I teamed the rich razzleberry with orchid opulence and my favourite old olive.

I hope that you like my page, please let me know what you think.

Have a great day

Male Card

I can't believe how quiet the house is! The girls are back at school and the dog is looking lost. I've done the washing up, hung out the washing and checked all the emails and its only 9.30! I have a lot of cards to make though so I shall pop off into my craft room in a bit.

This is a birthday card for my father in law. He loves his garden and he has a lovely wood which he has cleared out and it is now a beautiful shady place to escape the sun.

I thought he would like the Lovely as a Tree image. I created a background using alcohol inks and then stamped the image on top.

I stamped the leaf image from the same set on the insert. I hope that he likes it.

Have a great day

Mum

It's my sister in laws mums birthday soon and she asked me to make her a card using pastel colours and flowers. I love the Greenhouse Garden stamp set and as it's not been out for a while I decided to use that.

I used a step card and layered the pansies onto whisper white.

I stamped the image again on the inside of the card and used the Birthday Wishes stamp. My sister in law has now ordered lots more cards so I shall probably take some of my stash outside and enjoy the sun before the thunder storms arrive.

Just wanted to finish with a photo of my youngest daughter in her new Irish dancing dress. I glued on over 700 swarovski crystals and it looks stunning on the stage. She danced beautifully yesterday despite the heat and I wanted to let her know how proud I am of her.

Have a great day!

This is a really easy card to make but looks lovely. My friend wanted a birthday card with butterflies on so I teamed up the new Soft Suede with Rich Razzleberry, Yoyo Yellow and Certain Celery.

I used the Happiness Always sentiment and layered it onto a scalloped Soft Suede Circle.
I stamped the smaller butterfly on the insert of the card. My friend loved it so I was really pleased.

Hope the sun is still shining where you are

Sweet 16

My sisiter in laws niece lives in Malaysia and she wanted me to create a card for her 16th birthday. As I am still loving the new colours I chose Rich Razzleberry and added a bit of pale plum.

I never used to be much of a ribbon person but I love the new polka dot ribbon so I seem to be adding it to lots of my cards lately. I also added some glitter to the present and the top of the candle.

Inside I added 16 candles and then left it blank.

I hope you are enjoying the sunshine, I am off outside to bake myself for a bit.

New colours

Hello everyone, sorry I haven't been around much again. My right arm is just not working properly even though I'm on more steroids than a female Russian weightlifter ;). Anyhow, I ordered all the new gorgeous colours from Stampin up and finally felt well enough to have a play yesterday!.

I have been following Jo Dumbletons blog and loved her cards using the Vintage Vogue stamp set. I have made my own take of her gorgeous creations and made a card and basket for my lovely cousin in law Toni Jayne.
I made a basket to put her present in using the new Cottage Wall paper and the gorgeous Rich Razzleberry crossgrain ribbon.
The new colours go so well with the current range so it was very easy to use them together with certain celery and barely banana.

I am now off for more steroid injections but will try and make something else later to take my mind off it all.

Hope you're have a great half term!
