Christmas card and a new family member!

I got the idea for this little robin from the very talented Jenny Moors, her blog is listed on my page under stampingmoments.

I then decided to create a shadow card by cutting a cirle out of Old Olive and then stamping my wreath from teh Welcome Christmas set (still on offer!!) onto very vanila cardstock and then add some gorgeous glitter

The card has a 3 dimensional look but folds flat to go into an envelope!

The robin looks so cute on the branch don't you think?

On Saturday we got some photos sent to us from my lovely step son Christopher. He and his lovely girlfriend had bought two huskie puppies and they were gorgeous!

Well, Mark, the girls and I are suckers for animals what with the dog, the parrot, the chickens, rabbits etc so we just happened to check out the breeders page where we got Beamish from and lo and behold she had some gorgeous GSD puppies.

Of course, once the girls had met them it was a done deal and we came home with:

MURPHY!

He is so gorgeous, blue and gold and so gentle. Beamish thinks he's great and I'm in love all over again. I mean look at that face - how could you not love him!!

Have a great day

Two tone embossing

I was browsing the web this morning and came across a very talented lady here. Donna created a gorgeous card using different coloured embossing powders and I loved the way it looked so I decided to give it a go.

This first card uses my favourite old olive and I embossed with gold on the large snowflakes and silver on the smaller ones.

The second card is not quite navy and I used the gold and silver again.

This is a close up of the large snowflake and it really glistens in the light!

The last card is real red with Dasher. I embossed Dasher with silver and then used the dazzling diamonds glitter with the heat and stick powder for his antlers.

It really does sparkle in the light.

I am now covered in glitter but I had forgotten just how much fun embossing is, it's almost magical when it changes from the dull colour to something shiny!

Let me know what you think.

I'm Back!

Sorry I haven't been around much lately, I put my back out again and haven' been able to move for a couple of weeks!
I have been able to get up and about the past few days so I decided to have a go at making something a bit different - crackers!

Please excuse the photo quality - I can't find our digital camera so I had to use my phone!
I made a box to match this one. I used the stampin up wheel and the gorgeous gems to add some bling.

I used double sided tape and then stuck stampin up glitter onto the tape to create the glittery black linesI used the contemporary Christmas set for this one along with some more of the gorgeous glitter
to create this one
I used the gorgeous Melon Mambo to make this one especially for my youngest daughter.

I hope that I will be able to continue getting better over the next few days so I can play some more.

Thanks for sticking with me.

Ornate Flowers

I love the ornate flowers set, it goes so well with the Greenhouse Gala papers and the new colours!

I decided to create 2 cards, this one uses the new Marina Mist cardstock and ink

and this one uses the new Wild Wasabi. I also used the gorgeous new Stampin UP! Basic Pearls.

I then used The ever faithful Chocolate Chip cardstock together with the Greenhouse Gala papers to create this really simple no-cut bag.

I am having lots of fun with my new products and you can too. Order anything from me before the end of October and I will post it to you FREE! How good is that? E-Mail you order to me at

Christmas Cards!

I love the Christmas sets in the new Stampin UP! catalogue. I particularly liked the greeting that came with this set which is Contempo Christmas.

Christmas is without doubt my most favourite time of the year and I am always looking for new ideas for my cards.

Dasher first appeared in the mini catalogue and I was really pleased to see that they had brought him into the new main catalogue, he is so cute don't you think?

I used a red brad to make his nose "jump out" at you.

Well, it's a gorgeous day here today, I have just let our 5 new rescue chickens out into the main garden along with the other girls and our cockerel Ethan and so far it seems they are coping.

I am off to put my wellies on and make sure that they are all still there.

Have a great day

New Catalogue

Just look at this gorgeous paper! It's so lovely - just like everything in the new catalogue. Some of the old favourites are still there but there are son many new fantastic items that it's a joy to read.

I LOVE this paper and I love the fact that there is a stamp set to match - and do you know what? Stampin UP! have introduced all their stamp sets in either wood backed or clear! Now you can choose which style you would prefer.

This is one of the stamps in the set. It's called ornate flowers and it's yummy!

All the new colours are in there and the layout is much easier with all the colours listed together with the ribbons and embellishments etc on the same page.

I can't wait to show you the new products over the coming weeks.

Why not grab yourself a cuppa and sit down and take a good look through the new catalogue on line, or if you'd prefer, you can order one online using the buy now button on my blog.

Have a great day

Mr & Mrs

I was asked to do a wedding card for my friend and she wanted something a bit different so I went for my Melon Mambo which is a gorgeous new colour from Stampin UP!

I stamped the circle from the MR and Mrs set and then embossed it with silver. I then stamped the Mr & Mrs in Melon Mambo.

I used the flowers from the set and the Now and Forever stamp for the inside.

I also embossed the tiny hearts from the Tiny Tags set.

I hope that she likes the card.

I am now off to look at Slimming World recipes as even though I've had food poisoning I still need to lose a stone or 4! Wish me luck.

Have a great day

Lydia

It's my nieces birthday tomorrow and I wanted to send her some money. I took the wonderful Jenny Moors idea of creating a card with a perforated section but instead of making it into a bookmark I changed the dimensions and made it into a removable money holder!

The bit which says Amazing, thoughtful etc is the pocket that I can put her money in and she can then tear it off so that she can keep the card.

I then decorated the envelope to match.

I'm not usually this creative. I am very good at copying other peoples ideas but with the Stampin UP! stash it's so easy to be creative.

We went to Heythrop Zoological Gardens this weekend for their open day. My friend Mims father in law owns it and is a very famous lion tamer. He is often spotted on the Discovery Channel.

He has been training some white lions and Saturday was their first public outing and they were amazing.
He had the lions waving, jumping through hoops, running on barrels and the girls were in awe as were Mark and I.
After the lions we took them out to have a camel ride each which they both loved.
They love the fact that my friend lives at such a cool place and they can go there anytime. Unfortunately for me, Thalia fell in love in the reptile house and is now asking for a snake......

Have a great day
