Christmas in July

I have been playing! I love playing and have been very inspired by a very talented lady called Becky Roberts. She created a gorgeous set of milk cartons with a surprise bottom which I will show you in a bit.
I finally got my hands on the stamp set called Winter Post. It is such a gorgeous set and so versatile. I made the holder to hold 4 little milk cartons using Old Olive and then stamped and embossed in gold the snowflake stamp from the set and used it to reinforce the sides of the holder. I then stamped the really cute reindeer in black.


I stamped DO Not Open onto whisper white card stock and layered it onto Real Red and Old Olive and then punched two holes in the top of each carton and threaded white ribbon through the carton and the layered flower and tied it in a knot.


I then made 4 milk cartons using Real Red and Old Olive card stock and stamped the snowflake in versamark and embossed in white on the Real Red cartons and stamped the snowflake in Old Olive on the Old Olive cartons.


My photography is rubbish and I do apologise. The bottom of the carton has been closed using the small tag punch which I have stuck to the bottom of one of the bits of the base of the carton and then I cut out a hole for it to slip through to create the secret opening at the base of each carton

This allows you to get the goodies out without having to open the top of the carton!

I then stamped the to you from me onto whisper white and layered it again with Old Olive and Real Red and then tied some thick white ribbon through the handle of the holder and attached the "tag" to it.



I have really enjoyed making this. It is SO cute and will make a lovely Christmas gift (if I can bear to give it away)

Am now off to make some tea as my family have been very patient whilst I finished this.

Birthday and Get Well Cards

Both of todays card were made using the Baroque Motifs stamp set from the main catalogue. The first card is for my friends birthday tomorrow. She loves black and white and I added two butterflies stamped onto vellum and then punched out from the Flight of the Butterfly set and then the sentiment comes from the Circle of Friendship set which I LOVE!


The second card was cased from the Splitcoast Stampers gallery. I changed the colours to Rose Red. This card is for my niece who had to undergo brain surgery for 9 hours yesterday. Thankfully she came through it all fine but it's going to be a tough few weeks for both her and her mum.

It's nice to have time to work in my craft room in between my "naps". My girls are being very helpful and not complaining when I have to go rest.

concertina case

I saw this idea over on Splitcoast stampers and decided to give it a go for another thank you set for one of my friends.


The whole thing concertinas so that you can add as many cards as you like.

I made tabs to go inside to separate the cards.

I used the Bird on a Branch stamp set from the mini catalogue for all the cards.


The box was created using the gorgeous sweet pea papers, also from the mini catalogue.


I used Pumpkin Patch, Chocolate Chip, Summer Sun and Taken with Teal for the inks and card stock to complement the papers. I think that is my favourite thing about Stampin' UP! The fact that everything co-ordinates so beautifully together.

I am starting to get better after my surgeries but I am still fighting a chest infection which is really laying me low, hence the lack of posts. Thanks to everyone for all the cards and good wishes, I really do appreciate them all.

Drawer Box

As I have a lot of people to thank after my first and then surprise second neck surgery Ithought I would have a go at the drawer box on Splitcoast Stampers. My first friend is a very elegant lady who loves black and white so this is perfect for her!I used 3 crystals from my stash to decorate each side of the handle and the So Swirly Wheel to create the pattern - simple!Inside the drawer are 5 C6 cards and envelopes which are all the same with the 3 crystals again as accents



I used the wheel again on the envelopes to continue the theme
And again on the inside of each card.
I am slowly recovering and consider myself as having a lucky escape as the damage from my disc could have left me paralysed from the neck down, then how would I be able to continue with my passion for crafting??

It is very nice to be home and being pampered by my husband and daughters and I am enjoying all the lovely handmade cards my "ladies" have made for me.

Stationery Box

This is a stationery box I created using the template from Split Coast Stampers.

I created a little notebook on the inside and then a little pocket for stamps. There is also room to add a pen when I can find one that matches the colour scheme.


I then created 4 little note cards to go in the back pocket using Kraft card stock and the My Sweet Pea stamp set which is available from the mini catalogue at just £9.95!

I used the Sweet Pea designer series paper stack for the inspiration for the cards and the box itself only took 2 sheets of the paper and you get 48 sheets in the pack for only £19.50! Think how many boxes you could create!

I then created 4 tags using the Taken with Teal, Pumpkin Pie and Kraft card stock and the Pumpkin Pie ribbon



and finally I created 3 little note cards using the bird stamp from the My Sweet Pea set again.

I REALLY enjoyed making this set and I am planning on making 2 more for my friends who are going to be doing me huge favours over the coming weeks.

Unfortunately, the pain in my arm has turned out to be more serious than I first thought and I have somehow managed to prolapse a disc in my neck which is pressing onto my spinal column and effectively trapping the nerve to my arm! I have to go into hospital next Friday to have my neck fused which I am not looking forward to, more so because I will be unable to drive for 6 weeks!

Hopefully I will be able to carry on crafting though!
