Mmmmmm Wine

I'm a pink girl myself, when I'm allowed wine that is! I decided to try some More new techniques with this card. I cut out a square of whisper white and then scored lines on it every half an inch. I then stamped the En Francais as a background and sponged some so saffron onto it as well. This then created an almost lattice effect on the white.

I then used Pocket Silhouettes along the bottom of the white.

I then sponged some more of the so saffron and added some chocolate chip to some whisper white and then stamped the wine bottle from the level one stamp set in the mini catalogue and then mounted it onto chocolate chip.

I carried on the sponging background for the sentiment and mounted it again onto chocolate chip but hid one corner of the chocolate chip behind the large white square.

I then mounted it all onto old olive cardstock onto which I had stamped the En Francais in Old olive ink.

Please let me know what you think.

Glitter and Glitz

Guess what I have? Heat and Stick powder and Stampin Up Dazzling Diamonds!!! Well, I have to tell you, as a glitter loving girl this stuff rocks!!!

I created a Christmas kind of card using a sketch from http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/ so I would like to enter it for their challenge please.

I then would like to enter the card for the My time to craft challenge http://mytimetocraftchallenge.blogspot.com/ for the glitter and glitz on this card

I used my faithful plastic bag to create the background on each layer of card using the coordinating ink for each colour (don't you just love the way Stampin Up stash coordinates??)

I stamped snowflakes on the layers too and then used the dazzling diamonds on those too.

I hope you like the glitter on my card today and that you're enjoying the sun

See you soon

Sweet Pea

This is a different type of card. It has a little tag at the bootom right which holds the card shut.

I'm not sure if you can see it too well.

THis is the outside of the card. I used the sweet pea papers and punched a hole in the middle of the folds and then I cutout a scalloped circle and then punched a circle out of the middle to make a window.

I decorated the inside by using the scallop punch again and cutting a cirlce onto which I stamped a flower from the Sweet Pea set. I then used the bird from the same set on the bottom right of the card.

The card then folds up to become a tri fold card with the image of the flower showing through the circle.

I'm not sure if any of that makes sense but hopefully it will.

I had my hair cut even shorter yesterday which I am very pleased with as it doesn't stick out so much over my "cone of shame".

I hae my eldest daughter coming back from her adventure camp, apparently she has been kayaking, rock climbing, absailing and has lost a tooth - can't wait for all the washing!

Have a great day

More Challenges

I haven't had much time over the weekend to get into my craft room unfortunately so this morning I nipped in before my one remaining daughter awoke!

I searched through my list of challenge blogs for some inspiration and created this card which I would like to submit to the following challenges:

http://cupcakecraftchallenges.blogspot.com/ Two papers, two ribbons and 2 flowers
http://ourcreativecornerweeklysketch.blogspot.com/

I put the extra flowers on the inside of the card as I like to decorate the inside as well as the outside.
I have the hairdresser coming this afternoon so I can feel almost human again. I still have 2 weeks before the collar can come off but I thought I would update you all with a picture of me in the "cone of shame"

Still managing to smile see?

Have a great day

Challenges

I thought I would have a go at a couple of challenges today. I am submitting this card for both the Sweet Stampin pretty in pink challenge and the sketch Saturday challenge.

I actually had fun using the pixie pink cardstock and ink. I also used so saffron and the petal party scrapbooking set. The stamp set I used is Simply Said.

Am now off to get girls ready for sleepovers.

P.S Sorry the photo looks so rubbish on the blog, I promise it looks better if you click on it.

Wedding Card

We are off to Ireland next week for a very special wedding. Both my daughters do Irish Dancing and their teacher is getting married in Westport. We are all going over for her wedding and the girls will get to dance!

Because it's going to be so special I created an extra special card for them! I stamped the French Script background stamp using the Versamark ink and then embossed it in gold.

For the inside I stamped Happiness Always and embossed it. I punched out the hearts and then used the punched bits to mirror it at the top of the card. I used the Mr and Mrs stamp set and embossed the flowers again.

Here's an arty farty angle!

I then punched out 2 hearts and embossed the "bride" using the baroque motifs stamp set and then put 3 pearls on the "groom". I stamped Mr and Mrs from the Mr and Mrs set and embossed it in gold and then attched it to the card and put 4 more pearls on each corner.

I really enjoyed making this card. I haven't embossed so much for for ages and it was really good fun.

I have also been playing with clear embossing and cracked glass effects but I'll show you more later.

Please feel free to leave a comment to let me know you stopped by.

Have a great day

Cupcakes and Cards

I had a lovely day yesterday with my friend Hayley who came over to bake cakes. I made a yummy chocolate tray bake and she created the most colourful cupcakes I have ever seen!

Her cakes make my traybake look a tad boring!

I then went into my craft room and made an acetate card for my friends birthday. You can't relly see from the photo but the daisy stamp has been stamped in white onto the acetate to create a background

Then I created mats of pale plum and perfect plum to creat the insides of the card.

This is the card standing up

I told you I had been playing in my craft room and here are some of the results! I stamped the Greenhouse Garden pansy onto black card and then embossed it in white embossing ink. I then used the Stampin' UP! pastels to colour in the image above.

I then used the blender pens to colour in this image. Which one do you like the best?
I'll finish with a picture of one of Hayleys "special" cupcakes which I have to say I was quite glad when she told me that it wasn't for me!

Have a great day everyone

My daughters choice

I asked my daughters to choose 2 pieces of card stock for me to create some spinner cards. My youngest daughter Summer went straight for the bold brights and chose Pink Passion and Brilliant Blue whereas my eldest daughter Thalia went for soft subtles and chose Bashful Blue and Barely Banana which I supplemented with Apricot Appeal.

I then used the two step stamping and the gorgeous Greenhouse Garden stamp set and created a flower on a circle and then made it into a spinner card

I also used the tiny tags set (also included in this months offer) and created the tags on the front of the card with the messages Thank You on Thalias card and Hello on Summers.

I don't think I would have ever chosen these colour schemes myself as I always seem to opt for the earth elements and the purples. I can't wait to get my hands on the new colours that are coming out in October.

Remember, if you would like to take up the offer of 20% off the two step stamps in August please e-mail me at ruthwareing@aol.com and I will help you out.

Have a great day!

Greenhouse Garden

This is a card I created a while ago but I thought I would re-show it as the greenhouse garden set is in the August offer.
Greenhouse Garden is one of my favourite sets as it's so versatile and it looks so effective with the two step, two colour stamping. Why not order yourself a set for just £18.36 (instead of its usual price of £22.95) and have a go yourself!

Am now off to my craft room - I may be some time.......

Trendy Trees

This month we have a special offer on two step stamping - 20%!! How wonderful is that? One of the sets included in the offer is called Trendy Trees and in August you can get your hands on this gorgeous set for only £10.36!!

I love using this stamp set, it's perfect for mens cards which are always difficult. However, I decided to do something completely different today and I stamped them onto candles!!

This is so easy to do and so effective.

I then created a slider box with acetate and green galore card stock and then stamped the 3 trees down the side
I finished off the box with some Melon Mambo ribbon and a simple tag to you from me.

Let me know what you think.

Have a great day
