Scrapbooking

I have been trying to update my scrapbooks. Finding time to work on them is easier said than done but now the girls are settled back into school I thought I would give them a go again.

On this page I have used the gorgeous Fun Flowers die from the mini catalogue which I am pleased to say, is staying in the new catalogue. I embossed it with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.
I then used one of the gorgeous new punches to create the border below and threaded Pumpkin Pie ribbon through it.

It's a really quirky page with lots of angles but really bright and vivid which I love.

Not long to go now until the new catalogue launch but I am still taking orders for the mini catalogue and the old one. Let me know if you need anything.

Sneak Peak

As a demonstrator Stampin up allow us to preorder some of the gorgeous designs from the new catalogue. (I have to say the new catalogue is LUSH - to quote my eldest daughter)

I knew this set would work really well with the embossing powders. I have used the black embossing powder on this card together with the glitters to enhance the leaves and berries

On the Very Vanilla card I have embossed it using gold embossing powder and it really makes the bird stand out on the card

I used the gorgeous Grosgrain ribbon to add some colour to the card and then the gorgeous new border punch to create the centre of the bow
I will be back to show you more sneak peaks soon but don't forget to check out the retirement list as so many gorgeous sets are retiring at the end of September never to be seen again as are lots of products from the mini catalogue.

If you want to place an order with me, then I am offering FREE P&P for all orders over £50.00 for September only. Please e-mail me at ruthwareing@aol.com.

Many thanks

Driving By

Please, please excuse the photos on this posting! I had to use my iphone and then upload them on a friends computer with no editing software so they are not brilliant!

It was Marks birthday last Friday and I wanted to create something a bit different so I cased a card from the very talented Darlene her blog is here http://darlenedesign.com/wordpress/

I used the driving by set and created a pop up card with this inside:

I used sponges to create the grass and the sky and then used the smallest heart from the 3 heart punch to attach some hearts to craft wire.

It was a really effective card and Mark loved it.

This is the front of the card before you open it.

My new niece was also born on Marks birthday so I am busy making her a welcome to the world card which I hope to show you if I can ever get my camera and computer working at the same time!

Enjoy the sunshine

Circle Circus

I started off as a scrapbooker years ago and whilst I was moving into my new craft studio I came across some photos of our holiday to Spain a couple of years ago and I just happened to have the circle circus stamp set on my desk and one thing kind of led to another.

I cut out a large circle of plain cardstock and then edged it with different coloured circles stamped with the circle circus stamp set.

I used the new label punch to punch out the mum and boo title

I also used some of the sweet pea papers from last years mini catalogue to follow the circle theme and to frame the page.

It's always great to have another page completed. I love the fact that when my daughters are 18 they will have something far more precious than just a photo album of their lives and that's what's so great about scrapbooking, you can take your favourite photos and make them into mini works of art!

Have a great day!

Pillow Box Die No. 3

I have been trying to upload this for a while but my blog has been misbehaving - sorry.

This pillow box has been made using acetate and it was full of mini eggs until Summer found it!

It is so quick to make and so effective. If you have a go, please post a link in my comments section so I can go and have a look.

Have a great weekend

Pillow Box Die day 2!

As promised this is day 2 of fab uses for the pillow box die and not a box in sight!! Just this gorgeous basket.

This is the inside of the basket. It uses 3 pillow box die cuts and is a really good size.

I decorated it with the springtime paper again and used the baby blossoms stamps with the easy to use stamp a majig.

Pillow Box Die

I wanted to show you how versatile the new exclusive dies are from Stampin UP! Over the next few days I will show you what you can do with one of my favourite dies - the pillow box.

I got the instructions for this box from this very talented lady here StampinT

The top and bottom are made from the Springtime papers from the new mini catalogue and the pink bias binding is from the same catalogue.

The bottom is decorated with the bis binding in baja breeze and one of the gorgeous new bitty buttons This is the box opened.

You can close it as small as you need and it fitted the earrings I had bought as a gift perfectly!

You can buy all the items I have used here from me. There is a link to both current Stampin UP! catalogues on my blog and I would be more than happy to help you with any stampin UP! purchases or projects you would like.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend

The Owl Punch!

Just a quick post today.

How cute is the owl punch?? I just love it and it's SO versatile. I was asked to make an anniversary card for some friends and I created this! I love the googly eyes.

I just couldn't resist writing this on the inside.

What do you think?

Baby Blossoms

I love the new mini catalogue and I thought I would show you something I created using the Springtime Designers Series Paper and the Baby Blossoms stamp set.

This is called a Box in a Bag and the instructions can be found over at splitcoast stampers
I used the designer papers to create the box in a bag and then used Rose Red cardstock to crate the bottom

I used Rose Red cardstock again to punch out frame and then I used Baja Breeze to stamp the flowers.

I used the Itty Bitty Bits stamp set together with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch pack to create the "buttons" around the bottom.

I used the gorgeous Seam binding to close the bag.

The card is almost a complete case from my Stampin UP! moms page here I'm sure she won't mind.

I just added my own little touches to the card.

I hope that you all enjoyed the Royal Wedding and the long weekend. The house seems very quiet since the girls went back to school. Hopefully though, that will mean more time for crafting.

Have a great day

Top Note Die

I LOVE the new mini catalogue ( I may have mentioned this before) especially as we get the Big Shot to play with. This is one my favourite dies - Top Note. It is so versatile and I will be showing you different uses for it over the next few days.

This first image is using the Top Note Die to create a box
I cut out 2 die cuts using patterned paper and glued them onto whisper white card stock to make them sturdier. I then created the box using cardstock. I used some ribbon to decorate the front of the box and then punched out a greeting and stuck it on with dimensionals. I then created a card to go with it using the boho flower punch and matching paper. Because the Big Shot only takes seconds to cut out a shape the box only takes a few minutes to put together but looks really professional. I'm going to fill mine with shredded paper and mini eggs! Let me know what you think. Ruth

Easter Bunnies!

I have to confess to becoming a little bit addicted to the Malteser Easter Bunnies and to try and get over my cravings I thought I would design something to put them in to make them just that little bit more of a special gift for Easter.

I took some Pretty in Pink cardstock and stamped it with the dots stamp from the A Good Egg stamp set using Certainly Celery ink. I then adapted the acetate box from the Splitcoast Stampers website here. I stamped the Happy Easter Greeting onto cardstock and punched out using the Modern Label Punch extra large and attached it to my box using Certain Celery ribbon. Finally I nestled the bunny inside the box using green tissue paper. These boxes are very quick and easy to make but make an excellent (allbeit temporary) home for the bunny!

Finally I thought I would show you a picture of my 2 gorgeous daughters that was taken at a competiton last weekend.

My youngest daughter had danced beautifully in the championship and my eldest daughter (who only started dancing 6 months ago) is making her way up through the grades. I am so proud of them both!

Enjoy the sun!

Mothers Day

Hello again

Every time I post on my blog I seem to end up apologising for my lack of posting. Unfortunately my health has not been good again and my right arm only works when it feels like it!

However, I have been busy when it does choose to work. I love, love LOVE the new mini catalogue (there is a link on the left hand side of my blog, just click on the picture and all the glorious goodies will appear like magic!) As a demonstrator I was lucky enough to be able to pre order some of the goodies and with the order I am about to place for my lovely customers (if you would like me to add your order too please e-mail me) I think I will have almost everything in the catalogue!

My favourite bit has to be the BIG SHOT! Yes! We got the big shot and the dies and embossing folders to go with it. Some of which are exclusive to Stampin UP! I bought the gorgeous milk carton die and the butterfly embosslit which I used to create this for mothers day:

I know Mothers day has gone but my mother in law reads my blog so I couldn't post it before.

The milk cartons are perfect for putting little presents in, this one had earrings in one, a necklace in another and a bracelet in the last one.

I have made some more and filled them with mini eggs all ready for Easter which I will show you later. The milk cartons takes seconds to make with the Big Shot die and the butterfly embosslit cuts out the butterflies and embosses them at the same time so the whole present took minutes.

If you would like to have a go at making these then let me know, with every order I receive for a big shot and dies I will send you a project using the dies you have bought free of charge as a thank you.

Am now off to enjoy the sunshine.

Take care

Easter Bags

I apologise for being absent again. I have been very busy gluing almost 2000 swarovski crystals onto my daughters Irish Dancing dress which has taken forever! All finished now thank goodness and I can get back to crafting.

I thought I would create something for Easter as it will soon be upon us so I created these little gift bags each with their own little card.

They are really sweet and best of all, quick to make, especially if you would have lots to do like me.

I'm not sure which colour combination is my favourite but apparently the blue and yellow is for my eldest daughters boyfriend!

I have just had a rather large delivery from the lovely UPS man, bringing me all my goodies from the mini catalogue which goes live on 1st April. I promise you it's full of the most gorgeous goodies you could imagine and I can't wait to show it to you all.
Have a great day

Ruth
